Streamlined web overhaul for a provincial safety regulator

The Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) keeps the province safe.

They look after regulating everything from natural gas permits to elevators and amusement park rides. Their old site struggled to keep up. It was dated, tricky to navigate, and flooding their support lines with “Where’s this?” calls from homeowners and industry pros.

STEALTH tackled a massive redesign, creating a website that was clear, consistent, and user-friendly.

Taming a Sprawling Giant

We dispatched a six-person crew for this project.

The team included a UI expert, writer, designer, front and back-end developers, and a project manager, who dove into 150+ unique pages and over 200 documents. In collab with TSASK’s team, we organized the structure, wireframed a new site, proofread the content, built a few features, and brought it to life.

Navigation That Works for Everyone

The number one thing missing from the old site was consistency.

Permits and other documents hid in different spots for each service section, which were managed by siloed teams. We worked closely with TSASK’s team and took the sitemap through multiple rounds, settling on a streamlined layout that works for everyone. It’s clear and intuitive, with quicklinks and visual cues that say, “You’re in the right place.”

From Clutter to Clarity

Ease of use was the mission.

We built a website that doesn’t assume you’re a tech whiz, with a new colour-coding system and informative icons for services. A brand-new “I Want To…” homepage guide assists users based on what they need to accomplish (in plain English). A robust new search tool digs through pages and documents.

A brand new site

The result? A site that’s as dependable as TSASK itself.

It’s intuitive, organized, speedy, and ready for action. Support calls are down, and Saskatchewan is safer for it.
