Stock images can save a lot of time and money. If you had to hire a professional photographer for every ad campaign, your costs would add up quickly. Stock images can be a great tool to keep your Saskatoon business above the line, however, when used improperly it can leave your audience with a generic, unoriginal taste in their mouth.
Here are three tips we’ve found to help use stock images effectively:
Less is More
Minimalism in advertising has become increasingly popular in recent years as the oversaturated consumer finds more joy in fresh, clean ideas. The trick to using stock images is to use them sparingly and only in places where they genuinely contribute to the overall look and feel of your site or campaign (Check out our blog on minimalist advertising that has been making a splash in NYC here).

Don’t Fear the Filters
Sometimes cropping a stock image, adding text, or changing the colour of the photo can help to make it feel unique and original. Editing the stock images you have will help your site or campaign stand out from the competition (but like the first point – don’t go overboard).

Make Them SEO Ready
When you download your photo off of the stock image site, save the file with a name that contains your SEO keywords. Not only will this contribute to SEO, but it will help keep your photos organized by type and campaign.
