The flagship iPhone that has been the subject of many tech rumors and leaks has finally dropped. Along with the announcement of the iPhone 8 and 8 plus (which, let’s face it, was very much overshadowed by Tim Cook’s “one more thing” ), the iPhone X (actually pronounced Ten) made its debut. Of course, this begs the question, “Will there ever be an iPhone 9?”
More on that later.
It’s All in the Design
The iPhone X is embracing glass everything, yet boasts to be the most durable smartphone, with both dust and water resistance. Its surgical steel exterior comes in stunning shades of space grey and silver – two colour staples that have been kicking around the Apple palette for the last few years.
Like many of the newer phones from competitors around the world, Apple has forgone the bezel and adopted the edge-to-edge screen (no surprises there).
This new member of the Apple family stands 5.8 inches on the diagonal and is jam packed with the latest and the greatest. For all you spec lovers, it’s got an OLED screen and the highest pixel density (458ppi) in an iPhone yet, earning it the nickname “Super Retina display”. With True Tone display technology, expect your display to be next level.
Say goodbye to the home key and fingerprint identification. Your new iPhone X is going to be unlocking via face recognition. You will also be trusting your info (Apple Pay etc.) to Face ID. According to Apple though, there is a 1 in 1 million chance of someone breaking this new technology.
While the X may be an Apple masterpiece in itself, it would not be complete without the most recent wireless phenom – charging. The X has wireless charging compatibility, which is perfect for pairing with Apple’s Air Power. Their wireless charging pad, expected to be released next year, will allow you to charge all your apple gadgets (watch, pods, etc.) all in one convenient location. The future truly is now.
For a cool $999 the iPhone X can be yours. Shipping starts November 3rd, just in time for Christmas.
What do you think of the newest iPhone? Is is X-cellent?
